David absolutely loves to help out in the garden these days. He has recently put himself in charge of quality control...

He thought this particular yellow tomato needed more investigating and went on to eat the entire thing!

On to the squash.

Offering me some of his tomato while he checks out that squash.

David's Great-Aunt Carol has been sending him fresh mangoes direct from Miami all Summer! To say he loves them would be an understatement. He has quickly learning the word "mango" and wants one every time he sees them. I am trying to freeze some, but it's been hard getting them to last long enough. They are all gone within a few days of their arrival (with a little help from Daddy and me). They are so incredibly delicious and David is very grateful to his Great-Aunt Carol for sending them!

I couldn't get a good picture of him looking at me because he was only concerned with the mangoes.

I can't believe David turned 14 months old yesterday! Time continues to fly by faster and faster.

Every weekend during the summer we go up to the lake house my family has had for about 15 years. David is still learning about how much fun he can have there.

This year the water level is so high that it's up over the pier going to the dock! David doesn't mind wading through a little water, though.

This weekend, the water was finally warm enough for him to swim in with his Daddy.

He helped drive the jet ski around the cove.

And played in the mud, grass, and shallow water at the shoreline.

As of yesterday, David has enter a whole new world- the couch! Because of it's shape, the corner of the couch is the perfect spot for him to get the leverage he needs to boost himself up. He is so proud of his new accomplishment. It makes me a nervous wreck.

I am trying to teach him that once he gets up there he needs to sit still, but that is not going over so well. He loves to crawl back and forth as fast as he possibly can. Very rarely will he actually sit (like he did in the video).

On another note, next time you're at the grocery store take a moment to notice how many balloons there are throughout the store. I've never given it a second thought until I had a 13 month old. They are everywhere and he points to each and every one! It's too funny.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY!!

David helped his Daddy have a nice Father's Day with a sweet card and a gift.

For dinner last night we ate turkey that Ryan harvested this Spring. David loved to hear Daddy tell the story of "how the turkey got it", especially the boom of the gun going off over and over again.

We returned home from our two week beach vacation yesterday. David just had the best time digging in the sand, splashing in the ocean, playing with his cousins, swimming in the pool, and hanging out with family. I sorted through the rest of my pictures and have narrowed them down to these:

All dressed up for dinner with Mama and Daddy:

With Ricky and Cate:

Ma and Big Daddy with all their grandchildren:

Getting a great view of the shrimp boats from Big Daddy's shoulders:

Watching the sun set over the Apalachicola Bay with Mama and Daddy:

Splashing in the ocean water and not caring one bit about it going in his eyes:

Pure joy:

Our family picture on the beach (we take one every year). It's hard to believe there will be another little one added to the family next year.

Best buddies:

Also a yearly tradition- David's sweet foot prints in the sand:

Enjoying his last few moments in the sand Saturday evening:

We are all so exhausted at the end of each day, so I haven't had time to post more pictures! I have taken tons, but here are a few of my favorites from the past week and a half:

So proud of himself for climbing into Aunt Laureen's chair.

Everyone was feeding the birds bread, but David wanted to eat it too.

Having the best time splashing in a bucket of water.

Helping Daddy drive the boat on the way to lunch.

Checking out all the fancy boats at Port St. Joe with Mama and Daddy.

Bogie likes to dig the holes and David likes to inspect them.

SO excited about sitting in the bucket.

Playing with Cate.

Finally discovered the ocean several days into the trip.

Playing with Ma down by the water.

Hanging out with Ricky in their newly-built "hot tub".
