15 Month Check-Up

David went to the doctor for his 15 month check-up today. As usual, the nurses went on and on about how cute he is! He had a great time playing in the waiting room before the doctor came in. The doctor was very happy with every aspect of David's development. He was 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight and head size. Then came the bad part- the shots! He got three in his thighs. When the first one went in he seemed to question what was happening, but by the end of the third he was clawing at me to get him off the table. His face was red and he often was crying so hard that no sound was coming out. My heart was breaking. I couldn't explain why he was in so much pain. All I could do was hold and comfort him.
The rest of the day was absolutely NO fun. David was unbelievably cranky- very unlike him. He would upset easily and took terrible naps. It was a loooooong day at our house and I'm hoping tomorrow things will be back to normal.

Happy Anniversary, Mama and Daddy!

Friday (July 22), was our 5th wedding anniversary, but, tonight we went out for dinner to celebrate. David was such a good boy. It would appear that he needs to work on using a little bit quieter voice when we are in a nice restaurant, but other than that he did great!! He did run off an older couple that sat down right next to us because he was so loud. He wasn't crying or anything, just "talking" and laughing. I guess they couldn't remember what it's like to have small children or just enjoy the sound of a happy child. Anyway, the three of us had a wonderful time.
Here we are last year....our 4th anniversary. Amazing how time has flown and how much we (David and I, mostly) have changed.

Last weekend we went to a tractor show just up the road from Ma and Big Daddy's. I knew David would like it, but it turns out he LOVED it! He was running from tractor to tractor and got to sit on some of them. He loved pretending to drive them. He also rode in a kiddie train being pulled by a tractor so many times I lost count.

David and I spent last week at Ma and Big Daddy house while Ryan was gone fishing. We had a great time playing everyday!

In the mornings, we liked to play outside before it got too hot. David had a great time playing in the dirt, throwing pine straw and rocks, and dragging around sticks way too big for him.

In the afternoon's we stayed cool in the pool. Thankfully, their pool has a wading area just perfect for David. He still isn't sure about swimming, but he loves to play in the shallow water.

We spent all of last week at the lake celebrating the 4th of July. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the week.

Helping Big Daddy drive the boat to the boat parade:

Patiently waiting for the parade to start:

Watching the parade from the front of the boat with Ricky and Cate:

Finally getting a chance to break in the super fun water table (with no water in it, yet) that he got for his birthday:

Trying to give Mama a kiss through the glass door....SO sweet!:

Right after dinner one evening a little rain shower moved in. All 3 of the kids had the best time playing in the rain. David thought it was hilarious.
