David had a fantastic time helping his Daddy wash Mama's car the other day. He's such a very good helper, or at least he's the cutest helper...

David does so many cute things these days it's hard for me to get a video of them all. But, here are some of his latest precious moments.

Over the last month or so David has really grown to love books. Here he is reading to himself.

David can do the hand motions to patty-cake very well now! Of course, in David's true fashion he doesn't "throw" it in the pan, he BOOMS it in.

He is becoming an expert with animal sounds. He knows lots of them, here are just a few....

This weekend we celebrated David's cousin Ricky's 9th birthday!! David had a great time helping him open his gifts and an even better time singing "Happy Birthday".

We have tons of butterflies visiting our flowers right now and David absolutely loves them. He tries so hard to touch them, but hasn't been successful just yet. Whenever he sees one he gasps with excitement, then slowly sneaks closer so he doesn't scare them away. He has come very close to catching them several times!

David has recently learned about a particular farm animal and become quite fond of it. He can find them in his books, spot them from the car, and tell you what they say with a resounding "Boooooo", yes "Boooooo", whenever you ask. His new favorite animals are these guys:

Until last weekend, however, he has only seen them in books and from the car. On Saturday, we attended a Gilbert Family Reunion cookout. It was there that he got to see cows up close and personal and he LOVED it. When we got out the car, he spotted them and let out the highest pitched squeal imaginable. I had no idea my little boy could create such a sound. He was SO excited!

Then on Sunday, just like last year, we attended the Haynes Family Reunion (my paternal grandfather's grandparents) in the church my grandfather attended as a young man. They sing Sacred Harp hymns and each family comes forward to be recognized. Despite the heat (the church only has window units), David really enjoyed the singing.
