A Weekend in Warm Springs

We recently went on a weekend trip to Warm Springs, GA with our best friends The Cannons. And, of course, just as every other time we've been with them, we had a WONDERFUL time. David and Rachael loved spending time with Shiloh. She recently turned one and is able to keep up with 'the big kids' now. It's so much fun to watch them interact with one another.
We passed down Rachael's overalls from last year to Shiloh. The girls are basically one year apart, so the overalls were a perfect fit. We tried to get a picture of all three kids in their overalls [Rachael is now in David's from last year and David got a new pair], but Rachael wasn't interested in sitting in the leaves.

Shiloh and David discussing politics or religion, I'm sure.

Oh my goodness, how sweet is that?!

The girls enjoyed talking about baby dolls.

Rachael was very generous with her babies.

We laughed at this picture because it looks like a couple gazing at their newborn baby. A glimpse into the future...we can dream, can't we?

We stayed in a cottage inside FDR State Park. It was surrounded by great hiking trails. It was really neat to step out the front door and start hiking! The weather was perfect for exploring the woods and all trails had to offer.

David wanted his picture taken next to this tree...

Of course Rachael had to bring her baby along.

I think David picked up every big stick he found.

Rachael liked this felled tree because it looked like a slide.

David working on his balancing skills.

Rachael pausing to examine an acorn.

Shiloh was thoroughly entertained by David and Rachael during the entire hike.

Taking in the view of Delano lake.

Uncle David and Little David looking for a good fishing spot.

Shiloh had a good view and strong hold onto her Mama.

Back at our cabin the kids all enjoyed snack time together.

We went into town for dinner and Ryan had a chance to get strapped into a real electric chair. Even though it wasn't plugged in, I still wanted him out of the seat as soon as I took his picture.

The kids found something fun too.

We also visited FDR's Little White House.

Ryan has been teaching David and Rachael how to play Heads Or Tails with coins recently, so when David saw this plaque he ran over to it yelling "Look!! Heads, Tails! Heads, Tails! Take my picture with it, Mama!"

Rachael wanted her's taken too.

Inside the kids weren't interested in much of the museum, but they did like seeing FDR's car.

Their favorite part of the whole place was the water fountain.

Just outside The Little White House.

And only my children would use the information marker as a resting spot.

With such an action-packed weekend it was no surprise that the kids were asleep within minutes of getting into their seats to head back home.

A Fall Full of Fun

It's been a really fun Fall around our house. Of course, I took tons of pictures and would love to share them!
David and Rachael [and Bogie]  had a great time playing in the leaves in the yard and enjoying the beautiful weather!
I love watching the way they have so much fun with what seems like the simplest things.

Sweet Old Man looking handsome in his Halloween scarf.

David had a ball jumping in the pile of leaves over and over.
I love this sequence.

And driving his dump truck through it too.

And in great contrast, Rachael liked to sit in the leaves and examine each one.

And check on her Bogie in between too.

Of course, pumpkin picking is always a fun time too! They were overwhelmed by the pumpkin-filled field at first.

But, they soon loosened up and were goofing around with the pumpkins. They were riding some of the bigger ones like horses, then pretending to fall off. They kept the other pumpkin patch visitors very entertained.

I LOVE these!!

Is it just me, or do they both look so grown up?! I don't know if I like it...

Ryan wasn't in town to help us pick out our pumpkins, but he got home on Halloween just in time to carve them with the kids. They each decided what kind of face they wanted their pumpkin to have and then helped Daddy carve it.

Two cute pumpkins with their two cute pumpkins!

But, I think we'd all agree, we had the most fun during our day full of Fall Fun activities.
Just like last year, we had SO. Much. Fun!

All of us on the hay ride.

Mama coaxed a smile out of her Baby Girl.

The first thing we did was watch the pig races.

Then to jumping on the big air pillows. Rachael was so excited to be big enough to jump this year!

This picture makes my heart smile.

Then we were off to the petting zoo, which was Rachael's favorite.

These fun big wheeled bikes were David's favorite.

A different kind of slide.

The Corn Pit.

The cow train ride.

And the Hay Slide.

As soon as we got in the car to leave, David asked when we would be going back because he loved it there. It was great to spend time outside, just us, enjoying time as a family. Days like that are few and far between and always do my heart good. I cherish those stress free, carefree times. They are the best.
