David went to the doctor for his 15 month check-up today. As usual, the nurses went on and on about how cute he is! He had a great time playing in the waiting room before the doctor came in. The doctor was very happy with every aspect of David's development. He was 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight and head size. Then came the bad part- the shots! He got three in his thighs. When the first one went in he seemed to question what was happening, but by the end of the third he was clawing at me to get him off the table. His face was red and he often was crying so hard that no sound was coming out. My heart was breaking. I couldn't explain why he was in so much pain. All I could do was hold and comfort him.
The rest of the day was absolutely NO fun. David was unbelievably cranky- very unlike him. He would upset easily and took terrible naps. It was a loooooong day at our house and I'm hoping tomorrow things will be back to normal.
