David has recently learned about a particular farm animal and become quite fond of it. He can find them in his books, spot them from the car, and tell you what they say with a resounding "Boooooo", yes "Boooooo", whenever you ask. His new favorite animals are these guys:

Until last weekend, however, he has only seen them in books and from the car. On Saturday, we attended a Gilbert Family Reunion cookout. It was there that he got to see cows up close and personal and he LOVED it. When we got out the car, he spotted them and let out the highest pitched squeal imaginable. I had no idea my little boy could create such a sound. He was SO excited!

Then on Sunday, just like last year, we attended the Haynes Family Reunion (my paternal grandfather's grandparents) in the church my grandfather attended as a young man. They sing Sacred Harp hymns and each family comes forward to be recognized. Despite the heat (the church only has window units), David really enjoyed the singing.
