Valentine's Day Parties and The Turkey Show

Because the kid's had Friday, February 13th off from school, their Valentine's parties got pushed back. [This worked out great for us since we always go to the Turkey Show that Friday!]

Rachael's class party was on the Wednesday before.
I'm not sure why, but she got very upset when she saw Ryan and me. She wasn't supposed to come over to us. She was supposed to stay with her class and sing songs while the party food was served, but she was NOT into that on this particular day.

As soon as she was able to get to us, she was happy. Then it was time to eat, which made her even happier!

I love this picture that Ryan captured. My mini-me, only she's prettier.
She enjoyed her party, but was ready to go as soon as it was over. Her class had already passed our their Valentines to each other before the party, so she was ready to dig into her candy!

We went back the next day for David's party. His class was coming down the hall from P.E. when we arrived. You would have thought Rachael hadn't seen David in weeks the way she ran up to him and hugged him.

In David's class, they played Name Bingo. The teacher called out one of the student's names and David had to put a paper heart on top of that name until the sheet was filled. He was very good at it!

Story time while the food is set on the tables. Of course, Rachael wants to join in.

A Valentine from the teachers and Corky, the class squirrel, with Hershey Kisses! David was licking his lips.

Saying the blessing.

David had several admires in his class this year. These are two of the three girls who plan on marrying him when they are bigger.

On Friday we loaded up and headed for Nashville for the Turkey Show!!

Riding the turkey is always a priority.

David wanted to show Mr. Tommy how good he is at running a call that Mr. Tommy gave him years ago.

Rachael loved shooting the marshmallow bow.

BB Gun shooting.

Crossbow

And of course we visiting the bow fishing booth several times! This man was so happy to see David again. "There's my little buddy!" He said as we walked up. He told everyone all about David and was so excited to help him shoot. Next year, I'm going to ask him his name...

Rachael took a turn at bow fishing. It seemed that she only liked to do things when there was a lady or young man to help.

David quizzing the expert on this hawk just to make sure he knows his stuff.

A fun hunting video game, also a spot we spent tons of time.

Two of the kids favorite things to do at the Turkey Show-

Eat breakfast on the balcony.

And eat ice cream at the water show.

They slept well at night!

Saturday morning they woke up to Valentine's Day goodies. The each got a book, new pj's, and a small box of chocolates.

What were they most excited about?! The books.

There was a new booth this year- tomahawk throwing.

Rachael was technically too young per his rules, but he let her try anyway.

David giving it his best throw.

A tired little turkey.

David was "too young" for this booth, but he promised the lady he knew how to shoot. And he did.

Valentine's Day photos.

 Oh, how I love them.

We had an awesome time at the Turkey Show, once again. We never get tired of opportunities to just be with each other. We are each others favorite people and that makes these trips extra special!
