At the end of May we began renting our old house. This meant that Annie needed to be relocated. Our new backyard is not conducive to having a goat, so we had to find her a new home. Thankfully this was an easy task.
Right after we got Annie we took her for our nephew's class to check out because it was 'Farm Week' in their classroom. While we were there we met a very kind lady who worked at the school. She was super interested in Annie. At that time she informed us that if we ever wanted to sell or relocate Annie for any reason, she would love to have her. The woman and her husband own a farm with other goats, rabbits and other critters. So, when it came time to move Annie we knew she would be in kind, welcoming, caring hands.
But, that didn't make her last day with us much easier. I have to admit, I cried. Yes, over a goat. But, she wasn't just any goat. She was our baby before we had babies, we had rescued her, she was a part of our family.
She rode to her new home in the back of Ryan's truck in Chief's kennel. She wasn't too happy about it at first, but she laid down soon after she was in there.
We all said our goodbyes.
David was pretty sad.
Rachael was excited for Annie to get to go live on a real farm.
We haven't had a chance to yet, but we would really love to go visit her and check out her new place. We miss her very much. The kids still pray for her every night.
