In late August, David and Rachael started back to school. Sadly, this is their last year at the school they have been attending since they were both little ones.
David started Kindergarten!!! How in the world is that even possible?! I mean, I remember my first day of Kindergarten and now my baby boy?! WHAT?!
On his first day of school when he was two.
Although she was just three years old, Rachael was allowed to start Pre-K. She is just so bright and eager to learn that she fit right in from day one.
Baby Girl on her first day. She was still one year old.
And off to school they went!
Ryan was able to join us this time, which was really nice. David, as always, was a bit nervous and shy at first. Rachael was racing down the hall.
Rachael wanted to go to her classroom first.
She hung up her backpack and was ready to start the day.
She put her folder in the basket just like she would do every morning before the start of class.
She found the chair with her name on it.
And her reward chart. If you are good, at the end of the day you "feed" your squirrel an acorn. When your squirrel has five acorns, you get to pick a treasure out of the treasure box!
Finally David was ready to check out his Kindergarten classroom.
He found his cubbie. That face!
Oh. Games. Maybe Kindergarten will be fun.
Ryan helped David make friends with the new girl across the table from David.
He got comfortable in his seat and in his classroom.
It was time for us to go.
Both kids had a fantastic first day! David goes an hour longer than he did last year, so that was an adjustment. But, both kids love school and are learning everyday. I love the small class sizes at this school. We have been blessed with this wonderful school since Day One and I am really going to miss the "family" we have made there. Here's to the last year at this school. We know it's going to be a good one!
