I used to discretely roll my eyes at the moms with the shopping cart covers for their babies, until I had one. When you have a child that wants to touch everything and then put it in his mouth, you begin to become acutely aware of all the germs that could be on each and every cart you use. Now that David is getting a little too big to ride in the Baby Bjorn at the grocery store (we still use it around the house, though), he has a cart cover to protect him from millions of germs and also to keep him entertained while I get what we need. He really likes it. But, he doesn't need the toys much because he has so many people (mostly older women) who want to talk to him. I never get tired of hearing them say, "My goodness, aren't you a cutie?" or "What a handsome boy you are." or, my favorite, "I forgot what I was looking for because I was so enamored by your cuteness!"
