David turned 18 months old today! Unbelievable.
And so was his morning...

This morning David attended his first Mother's Morning Out program at a local church. It's a drop-off, three hour long, fun playtime for him. He was excited to see so many toys in one room and went right in to start playing. There was another little girl about his age there and they played with one of the teachers while I was filling out registration forms. He seemed to be pretty comfortable. So instead of making a scene, I just slipped out of the door unnoticed by David. I came home and figured he probably realized I was gone and may have cried for a moment or so, but got back to playing soon after. Well, that's not how it went. An hour after I dropped him off, my phone rang. The teacher began to tell me that David was doing great until another little boy came into the room. When his mom left, he started crying which made David cry. The teachers had been trying to console him for the last hour, but he wasn't calming down. So, he came home.
It broke my heart to think of him crying for so long, wondering where his Mama was. So, I think when we go back (yes, we are going back) we will go about things a little different. I really want David to know that he can trust these ladies and that I will be back soon, so he should just have fun until then.

On a happier note, here's David saying his name. While Ma was here helping me after Rachael was born, she started working with him on saying it. If you listen closely and can speak 18 month old, he says, " Daaaaay did" when I ask him what his name is.
