Rachael's 2 month check-up

What a morning! Rachael had her 2 month check-up first thing today. She was so happy in the waiting room cooing and smiling up a storm. All the nurses just loved the bow in her hair and commented on how pretty she was.

Next we went back to the scale for weight (50th percentile) and height (50th percentile) and head size (55th percentile). She's basically perfect.

Then it was time for the terrible part- the shots. My heart was racing. I knew what was coming and my sweet, cooing, little girl did not. The nurse cleaned off her leg. As soon as the first of three shots went into that cute leg, Rachael let out a scream I never would have imagined could come out of such a tiny body. It broke my heart to stand there helpless as she endured so much pain. As soon as the nurse gave me the "go ahead", I picked Rachael up and comforted her the best I could. Thankfully, David stayed at home with Ryan so I was able to tend solely to her AND he didn't have to see her crying so hard. She (and I) finally calmed down and headed home. She was in a lot of pain, so, I've been giving her medicine as needed, and she's been extremely tired. She has slept through most of her feedings by at least an hour. I hope tomorrow she will be feeling better.

She is SO cute and I love the bow in her little hair Lindsay!! I am so sad that she had to get her shots and I can't imagine you having to stand by either... Glad that is over with!
