Pumpkin Picking and Carving

So, after Rachael's birthday we really got into the Fall time spirit. One day after school, Ryan and I took the kids to pick out their pumpkins. David wanted a scary face, so Ryan suggested a long, oval shaped one for him. Rachael wanted a happy face, so she got a short, round pumpkin.

They always have the best time running through all the pumpkins. So many of them were "the BEST one" in their eyes.

Sorry Baby Girl, it was just too cute not to share.

Rachael wanted a little one even if they were too little to carve.

David wanted the biggest one they had!

Our sweet pumpkins.

Once their main pumpkins were chosen [with a lot of help from Daddy] they got to each pick out a tiny pumpkin of their own.

As we were getting back into the truck, Ryan noticed that the car next to us had a very flat tire. So, the kids got a short lesson in how to change a tire.

As soon as we got home, David wanted to start "carving" his little pumpkin. So, he got his knife and spoon and set into working on it.

He was so proud when he finally broke the skin.

Rachael joined him for awhile...

And Chief was on Clean Up Crew.

Finally that evening it was time for the big pumpkins to be carved!!

Rachael waiting patiently for her turn.

Using the mouth of David's pumpkin to make scary faces.

David took his carving very serious.

They both enjoyed getting up to their elbows in pumpkin.

So proud of their final products.
