A Weekend to Forget

I recently read in Parenting magazine that "you only get 988 Saturdays with your children from birth to 18, make the most of them." Well, this past Saturday, and Sunday for that matter, was not one that we will look back on with fond memories. Since Wednesday night, David had a fever that sometimes reached 103! He wasn't sleeping at night, which meant neither were we. He was whinny and clingy to ONLY his Mama. [I spent much of the weekend with Rachael on one hip and David on the other. And one time was even holding David while I fed Rachael her lunch] But, who could blame him? He didn't feel well. So, all weekend we sat inside watching every episode of Sesame Street available on On Demand and trying to coax David to drink "one more sip" of watered-down Gatorade and eat anything.

Even though he didn't sleep well again last night, David woke up this morning feeling much better and feverless. After a good nap, he was clearly back to his fun-loving self!! His parents were elated.

He helped Ryan take care of the farm animals by carrying Annie's water bucket to the hose for a refill.
His shirt says, "When I grow up I want to be a COWBOY"

Thankfully, Rachael didn't catch whatever bug David was fighting. She was a happy, sweet, little girl all weekend.

How many 6 months old do you know that sit on the goat house while their Mama rakes out the old hay? The answer is probably just one- Rachael.
