Yesterday we finally found time to carve our pumpkins. We covered the glass top table in our living room and Ryan set into designing, gutting, and carving both pumpkins.
David had to get his knife to "carve" his little pumpkin too.
Rachael was only occasionally interested in our family activity once we told her she couldn't eat the pumpkin guts.
The end results! [both look fantastic, Ryan did a great job!]
One happy jack-o-lantern
One scary jack-o-lantern
Now to the second half of this story. Before the jack-o-lanterns made it to our front porch David was so excited that he turned the lights off in the living room and used a large flashlight to light up the jack-o-lanterns. When he set the flashlight down on the table he must have hit the glass just right. It wasn't that hard of a hit, but the glass shattered all over the floor. It was an accident. So, as of right now, we have a table frame, but no table top.
That's just the way things go sometimes with little ones in the house.

GREAT pumpkins! I love that the happy one has eyebrows :) I also love David watching so intently and Rachael trying to get the guts! Sorry about the table, but glad no one was hurt!
