We cherish our time with our best friends, David and Stephanie Cannon and their precious little girl, Shiloh. They are so much like family to us that our kids even call them Uncle David and Aunt Stephanie. Even though we don't live far from each other it's been a challenge finding time between our schedules to get together. We have resolved to make time this year and I think we've done a good job at that so far. We've met for dinner at each others homes and at various restaurants between us. But, our favorite times spent together are full weekends.
We recently got to spend two weekends within a month's time together! It was great. I have lots of picture from both weekends, mostly of our children. Hopefully next time we'll be able to get a picture of all of us.
The first weekend together was spent at our farm.
David and Rachael just love Baby Shiloh. They want to know where she is at all times and if possible, hold her.
I think they have Baby Fever....
It was a little chilly that weekend, so the girls spent a lot of time relaxing inside by the fire. But, when we were outside we had a great time.
The boys fished in the pond
And Rachael had a great time "driving" the RTV
We also we on a hike down to the gorge where the boys, but especially Uncle David, did some more fishing
My sweet little babies
Within a few days we would be back together at our lake house!
A little back story-
Uncle David and Ryan have been best friends since they were kids. Ryan [and I] went to Young Harris College in Fall of 1999 and David [and Stephanie] in Fall 2000. Ryan and I became friends first [a topic I should probably blog on sometime] and then started dating our second year there. David and Stephanie became friends their first year and started dating their second. At the time, the school was a two year institute. So, Ryan went to UGA and I went to North GA in Spring 2001. After graduating a year later, David went to North GA and Stephanie to UGA.
Anyway, this particular weekend was Young Harris Alumni Weekend. [If you ever want to feel old just go to your alma mater's "Alumni Weekend". ] Since the school is relatively close to our lake house we all stayed there.
On Saturday we went back to our old stomping grounds to reminisce a little.
I love this picture of David and Rachael in front of the campus' Chapel. The place were Ryan and I attended many Wednesday night services led by our beloved preacher, Rev. Whitley. Also, this is the chapel in which I was baptized on Oct. 23, 2000. It's a special place. And a special picture.
Rachael and Shiloh just relaxing together on a swing
And David wanted to join them
Sunday we chose to just spend time with each other. We packed a picnic and headed to a secret fishing spot close by.
Can you tell we like to fish?
Aunt Stephanie and Baby Shiloh watching all the goings-on.
I just love watching Stephanie being a mother. She's the most laid back, relaxed, easygoing Mama ever! Her mothering skills come so naturally and she never gets frazzled or upset about anything, she just takes care of Shiloh in the moment.
While we were there David and Rachael decided they wanted to take a walk together. I capture this sequence of events with my camera.
