David's Birthday Weekend

Well, David's birthday "weekend" actually started at school on Thursday. Each child gets to bring the snack for their birthday party. They sing "Happy Birthday" and celebrate their special day. Of course, David was so excited that everyone was singing to him AND that Mama, Daddy, and Rachael were there too.

David and his class also had their Spring Sing that day, so after eating cake we watched their very entertaining performance.

Rachael loved the performance

That same day we headed to Ma and Big Daddy's house to continue the celebrating.

Friday was David's 3rd birthday and, just like last year, he woke up to a bed full of balloons. He [and Rachael] loved it!

After getting out of bed, we ate a special birthday breakfast complete with 'cowboy muffins' for our three year old cowboy.

Once we filled our bellies we wanted to do something fun that morning, so we went to a nearby park to play.

That afternoon after lunch and nap time back at Ma's house, we had even more fun! We went fishing and had a birthday cookout. It was so much fun. David [and Rachael] loves to be outside, so this was the perfect way to celebrate his special day.

Rachael just wanted to pet the crickets and the fish. Yes, she is my daughter for sure. This is exactly what I would have been doing when I was her age.

She carried the cricket basket around with her and kept a very close eye on them.

But, don't worry, she can be cute and girly too.

Sweet, old Bogie had a great time too

For dinner, Uncle Rich grilled some hamburgers and we had a picnic dinner- perfect for my outdoor boy.

Of course, there was cake and a few presents

It was the perfect birthday for our little boy!

Saturday was spent getting ready for David's party...
