Fun Times At The Fair

As I mentioned in the post about Rachael's party, we had a lot of fun leading up to her party day. The fair was in town and the kids were finally big enough to ride some of the rides! But, first we got to watch and cheer on Ricky and Cate as they participated in the livestock show.

We met them as they were preparing for their show. We got to see some of the behind the scenes goings on.

Ricky getting his lamb ready.

Cate showing off her lamb to David.

David also wanted to go see these ginormous cows with his Uncle Rich!

Rachael was fascinated by all the animals and happenings.

Finally it was Cate's turn to show her lamb to the judge. She did a great job!

And Ricky did really well too!

About halfway through the show, though, David started wondering why he didn't have a lamb to show. "When it is going to be my turn?"

After the show, Ricky was kind enough to give David a little lesson on lamb showing. Once he was up close and personal with an unpredictable lamb, he may have had a change of heart.

Then it was time for the FAIR RIDES!!!

Cate was so sweet to ride all the "kiddie" rides with David and Rachael. She sat with them and took care of both of them whenever there were rides I couldn't go on.

Fun on the Ol' Timer Cars.

Rachael was driving CRAZY!

The Merry-Go-Round.

The Boats.

Mama and David on the Little Caterpillar roller coaster.

Cate and David on The Dragon roller coasters. [it had a height window, so Mama and Rachael couldn't go on that one]

The Train.

Of course David wanted to be the "En-ga-ca-neer"

Cate and Rachael in one of the boxcars.

There were many other rides that the kids loved too. And some of the above were ridden over and over again.

Even Big Daddy got in on the fair fun with a caramel apple.

We all had so much fun! We had so much fun, in fact, these pictures were actually taken between two days. After our first night, we just had to come back for more! It got late both nights before we were finished. Time flew by. David and Rachael [and I!] can't wait for next year!
