Well, I'm still way behind on my posts, but I want to make sure I mention Rachael's latest doctor's visit. Not because there's anything major to report from it, but because I always like to document both kids' measurements and general check-up information.
So, the day after Rachael turned 2 we visited our pediatrician. As you may have guessed she was not as laid back and easygoing as David has always been at the doctor's. In fact, she was the opposite. She didn't want anything to do with the nurse or the doctor. Even being on the scale made her uneasy.
I didn't realize how much David had spoiled me with his demeanor at the doctor's office until this trip. Rachael hated getting measured [head and height], weighed, examined, having her eyes, heart, mouth, and ears checked, and the worst of all- the shots. She got two of those plus the nasal spray flu shot, she even hated that. She kicked and screamed the whole time. In fact, she was squirming so much while the nurse was trying to measure her length that somehow she was able to add 3 inches to her height! [I later had to tell them there was no way that was right].
But, I'm very happy to report that amid all the crying and wiggling the doctor was able to conclude that Rachael is healthy and developing perfectly!
She is 33" tall which put her at the 25th percentile mark [right on track for her].
She is 26lbs. and 12oz. which puts her just under the 50th percentile mark [also right on track for her].
I am so grateful to God for a healthy, happy [unless she's at the doctor] baby girl. What a blessing it truly is.
