David's 4th Birthday [Part One]

Can you believe it? Because I sure can't! David is FOUR! How is that even possible?!

When I was pregnant with him every older lady that would stop and talk to me always ended our conversation with the same phrase- "Enjoy it, they grow up fast." And they weren't kidding.
Four years ago, after two years of prayers, many doctors visits, and lots of tears, I held a tiny 6 lb. baby boy in my arms and I was in love with him.

Since David's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, he went ahead and took the whole weekend to celebrate.

On Friday, I took ice cream and cupcakes for his party at school. Rachael's teachers let her come over for the festivities! Ryan was able to be there too, which was great for lots of reasons. Most importantly to the teachers, he could read a book while they helped me set out the food.

Finally we had it all served! David was the first one to the table. [How about that new haircut?!]

He loved having all of his friends sing to him.

Dig In!

One of his friends told him to make his sister laugh. I'd say it was a success.

That afternoon we drive to Ma and Big Daddy's house to prepare for his BIG Superman party!

On Saturday, David woke up to a bed filled with balloons [a family tradition]!
Rachael played with him while Big Daddy made a special birthday breakfast.

Candles on your pancakes, a great way to start YOUR day.

After breakfast David was ready to get on with the fun.

He fished with Ryan.

And took Big Daddy for a tractor ride, while wearing his helmet [safety first!]

He stayed busy all morning long while Ma, Rachael, and I got food made, decorated, and set up for David's party, which would be on Sunday.

After a much needed nap that afternoon, we headed over to some family property close by for some fishing, a cookout, and a little birthday partying too. Like we did last year.

Even when the boat ride/fishing was done David stayed in to fish some more.

Look at this little cutie!

Rachael helped David open a few of his presents.

I love his reaction!

And try this one on from his Great-Aunt Rhonda and Great-Uncle Tony. SO cute!

Of course, we had to have some candles, cake, and singing!

All in all, I'd say he had an awesome birthday filled with tons of four year old fun.

The next day was PARTY DAY!
